The forecast last night was 4 to 6+ inches. I turned the alarm off. I slept in this morning in anticipation that I would not be going to work anytime soon. My wife let me sleep, the dogs let me sleep, I slept. That is until I didn’t but an extra 45 minutes was certainly worth every moment.
Coffee seems more aromatic when you don’t have anything specific to do in the near term. I studied my morning devotional. I went upstairs to the warm living room into the brightness of the reflection of the snow-covered ground just on the other side of the front windows. A nice good morning kiss from my sweetheart and the same freak dance from the furry kids as though I had been gone all day. That first sip tasted so good this morning. Cream of wheat with trailmix stirred in was in order.
A text message from Brittany, “Are we going into work today?” I smiled.
I’ll re-evaluate in a couple of hours…Daniel Boone is on.

I was up last night until 6:30a.m. with my two year old who was hacking and wheezing…this is my first time in years to see actual snow. Loved sleeping in until 11 a.m. You mean I missed breakfast my least favorite meal of the day and skip straight to lunch?! Heaven!
