You Can’t Legislate Attitudes

Available for Kindle on Amazon.com
A generational perspective of family and societal beliefs, traditions, actions and attitudes and how they affect the next generation. Attitudes will start to change when each individual realizes that he or she cannot expect to be accepted, until he or she can accept others in a non-judgmental way. Attitudes start with the individual, not with the lawmaker.

…but Congress and the Supreme Court keep trying’…duh, the only thing I have ever read that makes sense is the words of Jesus. “Love the Lord with your whole heart and mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself.” No other reason works, ’cause if you are a jerk–my instinct says you don’t deserve kindness, much less love! On the other hand, if I want to be in relationship with God and He says I need to forgive and love my enemies, then I need to do it. Sometimes I need help to do it…but legislating it, sending me to affirmative action or diversity training, really? How does that change me? Is my ‘Fallen Nature’ different that everyone else?

Their legislations can only affect us and/or our behavior…they can’t change our minds. Only a relationship with Christ Jesus can change us for the positive.
